Top 10 Recreated Iconic Movie Scenes You Have To See
These famous films had movie moments inspired by classic scenes.
One of the ways filmmakers can pay tribute to their peers is by re-creating the scenes that have inspired them throughout their careers. Throughout the history of cinema, you can pinpoint specific moments where a director or a writer makes a direct visual or thematic reference to a film that has influenced them. Sometimes they go so far as to actually include explicit references to those scenes or moments.
In some cases, the filmmaker goes for a complete recreation. This can be seen in Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ready Player One’ adaptation. In it, Spielberg pays homage to the late, great film director Stanley Kubrick by recreating many iconic moments from Kubrick’s classic horror film ‘The Shining.’ ‘Back to the Future Part II’ went so far as to have its characters re-live entire scenes from the previous film in the trilogy. Marc Webb’s ‘500 Days of Summer’ pays tribute to a number of classic films, including Ingmar Bergman’s ‘The Seventh Seal.’
‘Avengers: Endgame’ took a page from the ‘Back to the Future Part II’ book and re-created a number of iconic scenes from other films in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. J.J. Abrams even found a way to include a visual reference to Indiana Jones in ‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.’ The Indiana Jones series itself includes some pretty strong references to ‘Secret of the Incas’ starring Charlton Heston.
While some references are obvious, others are a bit subtle. Thankfully we’re here to do all the research for you, so sit back, relax and let’s dig in!
