Top Movies That Predicted the Future! Not Really….

There have been so many science fiction movies set in the future made over the years, but what happens when that “future” becomes… today? That’s right, we wanted to take a look at all of the movies we love that were set in the far away future of 2020, and all the ways that people thought our world would look totally different! Sometimes they get a few things right, and other times are completely off! Either way, we love seeing movies that thought they knew exactly what was going to happen today.

Some movies, like Back to the Future, predicted that by 2015 we would be living in a world full of flying cars and hoverboards! Sadly for us, we aren’t quite there yet. Others, like Blade Runner, also jumped on the flying car bandwagon, but added synthetic humans and space colonies to their vision of the future.

Speaking of space travel, movies like Mission to Mars, and The Space Between us thought we would be kicking back on Mars by now, while Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet imagined that we would have made it all the way to Venus! A whole slew of movies have made scary predictions about what happens when artificial intelligence gets away from the humans who created it.

Transcendence saw Johnny Depp uploaded to a computer and then almost instantly turn power-hungry, just like Hal the computer did all the way back in 2001. And it doesn’t stop there!
