How Much Money Does Jeff Probst Make As The Host Of Survivor?
In Survivor, the reality competition that has gone on for twenty years now, contestants are left in an isolated location where they take part in different tasks for food, shelter, and immunity. The contestants are eliminated progressively and the sole survivor who survives until the very end takes home the grand prize of $1,000,000. The show is a massive hit and the one thing that has stayed constant through the 20 years of the show is Survivor host Jeff Probst.
Survivor, certainly, isn’t the world’s first reality show. However, it is that show that proved that reality television can be both entertaining and lucrative. It is also the show that played a very crucial role in popularizing the reality TV genre in America and many countries around the world. Every season, we see new contestants vying for the grand prize, i.e. $100,000 and though contestants change every season, there is one man who has remained constant to the show and is now most closely identified with it: Jeff Probst.
Jeff was always convinced that Survivor would be big. Thus, when Mark Burnett was looking for a host for the show, Jeff created a demo reel and sent it to Burnett. Burnett liked Probst and he was hired — it’s been twenty years and during this time, Probst has moved away from being just the show’s host to being both the host as well as an executive producer. Jeff owes a lot to Survivor, especially the massive bank balance he has accumulated over the last twenty years.
